Those of you cleaning out attics, basements & garages this summer are reminded that Manitou Springs Public Library will take used book, CD's, & DVD's off your hands. The Library's used book sale will be Saturday, Sunday & Monday of Labor Day Weekend. Donations are being accepted at the Library located at 701 Manitou Avenue in Manitou Springs.
You may drop off boxed books, & materials during regular library hours: Monday, Thursday and Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday/Wednesday 10:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm. All donated items go into the book sale. You may request a receipt for tax purposes at the time of drop off. We do not accept textbooks, Readers Digest Condensed Books, Encyclopedias or Magazines, including National Geographic.
This annual event is sponsored by the Manitou Springs Public Library Advisory Board, and all proceeds from the sale go back to help support the library. As in previous years, this event is scheduled in conjunction with the Commonwheel Artsits Art & Craft Fair Labor Day weekend.

Under the auspices of Innovations in Aging Collaborative, Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center has been invited to offer residents of the Pikes Peak Region a NEW weekly health walk at the Garden of the Gods Park - A choice of one, two or three miles to enhance personal fitness while enjoying the late summer beauty of the Park. Following each outing, the scenic Visitor Center cafe will offer a free nourishing refreshment, camaraderie, and an informative Garden greeting to elevate the mind as well as to tone the muscles. Walks will be offered on Wednesday mornings, in September and October, beginning September 8th,2010. Meet at 9:00AM at Red Rocks Room at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center to select hike option. Dress for the weather, wear appropriate shoes, bring a hat, water and sunscreen as needed.
