Manitou Library Hosts Special Showing of
"Quiet Revolution/Global Gardner"
The Manitou Springs Public Library is pleased to announce a presentation by Transition Manitou of the movie "Quiet Revolution/Global Gardner." This event is scheduled for;
6:30PM, Monday April 19th, at the Library.
QUIET REVOLUTION is a half-hour movie about resurging permaculture movement. "Permaculture" is a term coined in the 1960's meaning "permanent culture" & "permanent agriculture." There will be a group discussion following the film. Transition Manitou is a local effort to creat a better, healthier local culture, one that fosters a deep and increased sense of community and connection. The main objective is to drastically cut the carbon footprint of Manitou and build 'resilience' into the Manitou community through "relocalizing" its resource base.
Relocalization affects all aspects of a community: food, transportation, energy access, local economy, and job base.
Call the library at 685-5206 to sign up for the program, or stop by the library.
For more information, check out the library's Website www.manitousprings.colibraries.org.
All programs are FREE and open to the public.
