Description:
Hike Red Rock Canyon is the Pikes Peak region’s newest open space area. Red Rock Canyon marks the transition from plains to mountains with 300 million years of geologic history and vegetation and wildlife from several life zones. Hike grassy meadows and mountain shrub lands, pass through historic red rock quarries and along sandstone rock formations. Trails are easy to strong moderate and tours take into account the hikers skill level. Route, distance and time vary as new trails are opened. Allow 2 1/2 hours. Guided Hikes are every Thursday at 9:00 am and begin from Red Rock Canyon parking lot on Ridge Road/High Street off of Hwy 24. Look for your guide Joe, he'll be wearing something red!
